There are two types of lottery gift cards available for purchase:
The lottery gift card with themed designs allow customers to choose the purchase amount in one-dollar price increments from a minimum of $5 to a maximum of $100. This card is available to purchase at most lottery retail locations. The same type of card is available online at giftcards.ca as an E-Gift Card in the same price increments featuring a generic theme.
The yellow lottery gift card is available in three convenient purchase options: $25, $50 or a variable load option of $20 to $100. These gift cards are available to purchase at participating locations in “gift card malls” where all other gift cards can be found.
There is also a multipack available only at Costco featuring two defined value LOTTO 6/49 gift cards (2 X $20) and LOTTO MAX (2 X $30). This pack gives customers 10 LOTTO 6/49 plays with 10 ENCORE, and 10 LOTTO MAX plays with 10 ENCORE – a $100 value for $90. Each card will print a ticket for the next five consecutive draws. These cards have no expiry date and can be separated after purchase.
Yellow or themed OLG lottery gift cards can be redeemed for any OLG lottery product including all LOTTO games and INSTANT tickets at retail locations. Lottery gift cards can not be used at PlayOLG.ca.
The defined value gift cards from the Costco multipack can only be redeemed for the offer on the card, either five LOTTO 6/49 plays with ENCORE or five LOTTO MAX plays with ENCORE per card.
No, lottery gift cards do not have an expiry date.
Lottery gift cards are available for purchase by anyone however, they can only be redeemed at a lottery retailer by those 18 years of age and older.
Lottery gift cards can be purchased at participating lottery retailers and at hundreds of other locations including big box retailers and grocery stores.
Lottery gift cards can be redeemed at any lottery retailer. They can not be used to purchase lottery products on PlayOLG.ca.
OLG lottery gift cards can only be redeemed at Ontario lottery retailers. This is similar to lottery tickets which can only be redeemed for prizes in the province/region where they are sold.
Yes, the lottery gift cards can be reloaded. Provide your card to the retailer with the amount you wish to load. The maximum amount to reload on a gift card is $100. For example, if you have a balance of $20, then the max you can reload is $80.
The defined value gift cards from the Costco multipack are not reloadable.

E-Gift Cards are electronic gift cards that work the same way as a regular gift card. The recipient receives a digital card emailed to them with a redemption barcode. E-Gift Cards are used just like regular gift cards in stores.
