TORONTO, ON – Allan Johnston of London plans to travel the world with his prize of $25,000 a year for life from the September 4, 2017 DAILY GRAND draw.
“My wife and I left for a three week trip to Boston and the Maritimes so I didn’t check my tickets after the draws like I usually do,” explained Allan, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When we returned home I checked my tickets while running some errands with my wife. After validating the ticket with the clerk, we saw the prize amount for the first time. We were stunned. I froze and was speechless!”
The married parents of three and grandparents of six left the store and sat down at a café to contemplate their good fortune over a coffee. “My first thought was that we had to tell our family. So we called each of our kids – the general reaction was disbelief and then excitement.”
After sharing some of the lottery love with their family, Allan and his wife will be packing their bags. “We already have a trip to New York planned but many more trips are in the works – a Mediterranean cruise, Hawaii for our 50th wedding anniversary, a scenic train ride across Canada and even a shopping trip for my wife,” smiled Allan. “This win gives us so much freedom to enjoy life to the fullest.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Hasty Market on Belmont Drive in London.
